Randolph "Rusty" Harrison

Rusty, a native of the sea islands of South Carolina, has built a multifaceted career as an acclaimed author, respected college educator, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, and former counseling therapist. Recognized with honors such as the Roston Endowed Teaching Chair and the WPCC Excellence in Teaching Award, he has demonstrated sustained excellence and deep commitment to student success.

He is also the developer of his college’s First-Year Experience Program, rooted in strengths and positive psychology, which received national recognition from The Gardner Institute, affirming the program’s impact and quality.

Teaming up with his wife and co-creator, Erica Harrison, Rusty's literary work has earned major accolades, including the Gold Award from Literary Titan, the International Firebird Book Award, and the American Writing Book Award for their book, A Guide for Aging Heroes.

In addition to his writing and campus leadership, Harrison shares his expertise through engaging lectures on psychology and education. Beyond academia, he lives what he teaches—embracing an adventurous, values-driven life as a writer, musician, motorcyclist, sailor, fitness enthusiast, and enthusiastic outdoor explorer.

Erica sees life as art, skillfully weaving her diverse experiences into a vibrant tapestry of creativity and service. With a background as a fashion model and designer, Erica has always had a keen eye for aesthetics and detail. This artistic sensibility continues to influence her current work as a holistic well-being photographer, where she captures the beauty of people, places, and purpose with a distinctive blend of authenticity and elegance.

Erica is a retired healthcare leader with a commitment to service that extends beyond her professional duties. Erica is deeply involved in her community, frequently organizing and participating in various charity events. Her leadership and dedication to philanthropy have mobilized resources and support for numerous causes, demonstrating her ability to make a tangible difference in others' lives.

Over the years, Erica's passion for adventure has taken her to countless destinations across the globe. She has run numerous half and full marathons, trail races, and Ragnar relays. Her running adventures have even led her to participate in the prestigious Mt. Kilimanjaro Marathon, highlighting her commitment to health and wellness through intentional living.
